Enough is enough
How long must we huff and puff
Flex our abs and get all buff?
Our calendars we overstuff.
We keep acting all big and tough.
When is it good enough?
Who will dare to call our bluff?
And when they do, we will surely rebuff.
Because we are made of “tougher” stuff.
“Really… did you think I was made of fluff?”
we say in our voices tired and gruff.
When is it good enough?
When you fall over from exhaustion
and your ego you bruise and knees you scuff.
When your heartbeat and breathing prove to be rough.
Enough is enough
What do get from the big handcuff?
Our sprit, soul and mind we snuff
For the illusion of more and more fluff
We don’t want to hear the tough stuff.
We put on our “headphones” — the big ear muff.
Tune it all out.
We can call on MacDuff.
Enough is enough.
