How do you cure a vulnerability hangover?
When your sharing and your becoming
becomes, well…overwhelming!
Do you tell yourself, “Do more”?
Do you keep pushing?
Do you allow yourself the little breaks?
The pauses.
The alone time.
The time to integrate.
Allow.
Be.
Breathe be-come,
Not do-come.
I am learning that my becoming is an active pursuit.
It is also an act of faith and trust.
It is also a balancing act of giving and receiving.
Listening and speaking.
To be in a new relationship with yourself and the world takes courage, patience and love.
Are you gentle?
Rough?
Are you the coach, screaming at the sidelines,
or the gentle mum tucking her little one in to nap?
Maybe a smattering of the two.
Your new version of you— needs “YOU”
to be soft.
Receptive.
Responsive.
Light.
Not heavy.
Demanding.
Critical and harsh.
Let’s be kind to our new ideas.
Our putting them out into the world.
Like a runner who needs a “rest day” after a hard run or a race.
Give yourself a rest day after a big “becoming” moment, or day.
Remember we don’t want or even need the finished / completed / perfect version of you.
We don’t want the past tense of you— “became”
We want the present-day version.
Your Becoming is quite becoming.
Beautiful you.
