life is not a to do list
a task to be checked off with a clenched fist
we are meant to coexist
not become a nativist
balancing our need to persist
with that of being sunkissed
without fear of being dismissed
nor merely living to subsist
this is not how we were meant to exist!
we must begin to collectively resist
the propaganda that attempts to enlist
our minds as well as our brains and wrist
asking the capitalist model to cease and desist
we are labelled as a bolshevist
when all we are asking is to untwist
the priorities that have come to insist
we cannot be good people without our our massive checklist
this started with Luther and Weber-the “A” list
stating a good life is one that must consist
of nothing on the to do list
being missed
no time for being kissed
and certainly not a tryst
until all work was completed
or you get put on the black list
you get the gyst!
