There is great power in the pause
Yet it never seems to receive due applause
There are many reasons for this cause
Modern society has its issues as well as its flaws
With the high cost of living and myriad bylaws
We get caught in the trappings of the bourgeoise
Eagerly awaiting the gifts of Santa Clause
Because….
We believe it will alleviate the seasonal blahs
This is one serious societal faux pas
It does not add to our happiness instead it withdraws
From our own satisfaction and our own sense of AWES
It keeps us stuck in the past and all that was
Lets not wait until peri or menopause
To celebrate the moments in between the hurrahs!
Oh the glorious pause
