Mining Grief for sweet relief

making space for the truth of grief

is hardly ever short, sweet and brief

and yet its full expression brings such sweet relief

in my opinion it can be the aperitif 

for full heart living

as stunning as the coral reef

we do not ask permission from a tea leaf

or from the police chief

for a retrospective debrief

because denying grief

is a massive thief

of potential joy in bas relief

it can be the leitmotif

for living a life like georgia o’keefe

fully, bravely and sans serif
