Why are we so fast to sacrifice?

If it were their decision to make 

They wouldn’t think twice

Putting aside our needs

“just be nice”

It’s a high price we pay

For thinking thrice

We convince ourselves

That all of “this” should suffice!

We’ve swallowed a lot of bad advice!

Instead of allowing our humanness a vice

we press our truth into a patriarchal vise

We give it a small corner, a tiny slice

Take up less space-Be concise!

Like scurrying mice

We retreat to the home of our tiny device

Let me be clear and precise.

It’s not ours to give up.

No matter what the price!
